Second round for African Media Barometer (AMB) in Uganda

On February 12, a panel of local experts met in Entebbe for two days to debate the current developments in the country’s media scene within the framework of the African Media Barometer (AMB).

The AMB Format provides for a comprehensive self-assessment exercise by media practitioners and civil society representatives. Every two to three years a panel of experts discusses the national media landscape along 45 predetermined indicators, derived from African Political Protocols and Declarations. The discussion is then summarized in a comprehensive report. Over time the reports are measuring the media development in that particular country and form the basis for a political discussion on media reform.

In Uganda the AMB exercise was organized for the second time. While waiting for the 2010 results you can read the 2007 report here
